Mumbai, Apr 19: The silver jubilee celebrations of metro- based Jagajyothi Kala Vranda was inaugurated at Thakur auditorium, Dobivali (East), here on Saturday April 17.
Jagannath Rai, president of Mira – Dahanu regional committee of Bunts Sangha inaugurated the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Jagannat Rai said that it’s easier to establish an organization but, difficult to nurture it as per the norms of organization. He emphasized that Jagajyothi Kala Vranda has indeed become an ambassador in shaping the personality of Tulu – Kannadiga students through organizing literary, cultural and educational activities.
Jyothi S Shetty, former president of women wing of Bunts Association, Thane was the guest of honour.
Fr Prashant Madtha SJ, principal of Bangalore based St Joseph’s Night College, in his presidential address, said that Jagajyothi Kala Vranda which was established 25 years ago has been the ray of hope for Kannadigas’ who come to the metro to build better future. Regretting the negligence shown by the government, he said, it is sad that the government is not responding properly to their grievances in spite of being so helpful to the poor.
Jagajyothi Kala Vranda president Sukumar N Shetty welcomed the gathering. Vasant Suvarna compered the programme.
