Udupi: DySP hails society-centric initiatives of Asare Charitable Trust

Udupi, Oct 12: District deputy superintendent of police, Jaishankar, said that society-centric initiatives undertaken by Asare Charitable Trust are so noble that the trust is fit to be identified as a role model in the entire state.

He was speaking after distributing cheques representing financial help to the deprived children to pursue their education.

Jaishankar noted that the trust had distributed food, kits, masks etc and undertaken other social activities for helping lacs of people from the neglected sectors during the COVID-induced lockdown period. He wished that the students who got financial help for their education now will become educated and thereafter extend a helping hand to the downtrodden and poor children.

 

 

At the programme, Sheena Naik, the only manufacturer of Goli Soda (soda in bottles with marbles stopper) in the district, was honoured and honorarium was handed over to him. Swathi, who lost her house in the recent flood, was extended financial assistance on behalf of the trust. The cheque was handed over by Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district fisheries marketing federation president, Yashpal Suvarna.

Municipal councillors, Geetha Devaraya Shet and Rajani Hebbar were present. Asare Charitable Trust president, Vasant Bhat, presided. Treasurer of the trust, Satish Kulal, welcomed the gathering. Trustee, M Vallabha Bhat proposed the vote of thanks. General secretary, K Raghavendra Kini, presented the programme.
