APSRTC to operate 2,028 special buses for Dussehra

Amaravati, Oct 14 (IANS): The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transportation Corporation (APSRTC) will operate 2,028 special buses in the coming Dussehra festival.

"The special buses will cover various destinations in Andhra Pradesh and neighbouring Karnataka," APSRTC Operations Executive Director Brahmananda Reddy told IANS.

However, no buses will be run to Chennai, Puducherry, and Telangana.

He said the status quo on bus services to and from Telangana continues.

Recently, the corporation decided to run buses to full capacity, sans standees.

In normal times, the corporation's buses carried around 72 lakh passengers daily.
