Kundapur, Oct 19: “I have no information about the current Byndoor MLA contracting COVID, but the media has published that the MLA spent Rs 3,60,000 on COVID treatment. Where was the MLA tested and treated? Is the news that is spread on media true? The MLA should clarify. People holding public office should be like white paper. Therefore, the MLA should tell the truth,” challenged former Byndoor MLA K Gopala Poojary to the current MLA.
Speaking to news reporters he said that he too had contracted the virus and was treated and cured at Kundapur government hospital. “As far as I know the MLA is not tested positive for the virus. Why then is the confusion over payment of medical charges?
“The third series of sit in protests are in progress against illegal shifting by officials of Vandse self-help centre. The MLA has not taken the matter seriously so far. He has not spoken to the protesters. The protests will have to be held at the district level if this indifference continues,” he said.
