Kundapur, Oct 21: "None of the goddesses drink liquor or eat meat. They do not expect the same to be offered to them. It is the blind belief that by offering animal sacrifices and liquor Devi gives whatever is demanded. Only by keeping immense faith and devotion towards god or goddess, they get pleased," said religious thinker Kalicharan Maharaj.
Maharaj addressed the scribes on the evening of Tuesday October 20, after visiting Kollur Mookambika temple and getting darshan of Sri Devi.
Maharaj further said, "Any kind of religious or linguistic ideology is not right. The feeling that all Hindus are one, under the feet of Bharath Matha, should be there. Due to casteism, gruesome acts like rape and murder are taking place. Nothing can be achieved by casteism or friction between religions. Only when the divisions based on caste and class are eradicated and the awareness of the oneness of Hindus becomes strong India will become Hindu Rashtra.
"Cows and the product of cows have significant importance in agriculture-based India. There is a need to protect the cows, which have an emotional bonding with the cultural and religious history of this country. The work of protecting the Indian breed of cows should increase. Compared to foreign breeds, the medicinal attributes are more in indigenous breed of cows. Law required to protect the cows should be implemented. The works that are being taken place to protect the Hindu community, under the leadership of PM Modi is laudable.
"We are on tour in order to create awareness about the Hindu religion. A splendid Mandir of Bhagavathi Kalina Parameshwari is being built near the banks of river Shambhavi near Mulki. Parivara gods including Shiva, Ganapathi and Naga will be founded there. I feel blessed after visiting Kollur Kshethra, where Mother Mookambika is present. If we get amalgamated in devotion in the Brahmanda power in this holy place, there is a chance that we will become devotionally insane. Let all the difficulties of devotees visiting this temple might get resolved."
Entrepreneur Gurme Suresh Shetty, Shaktiraj, Prathik Shetty Mulky, Abhishek Bhandary Ekkaru and Sharath Hegde were present.
