Mumbai, Apr 26: The eighth annual day celebration of Malad Kannada Sangha was held at Ryan International School auditorium, Evershine Nagar, Malad (West), here recently.
Malad Kannada Sangha president Harish N Shetty presided over function. Metro-based Bunts Sangha president Aikala Harish Shetty was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion Shetty said, “Malad Kannada Sangha has set a standard for other associations through their yeomen service in promoting Kannada, its distinct culture and traditions. In order to respond to the needs of Kannadigas’ residing in the suburban Malad, the Sangha needs a full- pledged office building”.
Harish Shetty, president of Malad Kannada Sangh said that the Sangha was founded eight years ago, in order to respond to the grievances of Kannadigas’ settled in the suburban Malad, which has been effectively working in its set objective. He appealed the Tulu – Kannadigas’ settled across the metro to contribute generously to the cost of constructing an own building for Malad Kannada Sangha.
Satyanarayana Puja was performed at Deepmala housing society auditorium, Marve Road, Malad (West), here, as part of the celebration.
Sangha honorary chief secretary Shankar D Poojary, honorary treasurer Prakash S Shetty, vice president lawyer Jagdish S Hegde, joint secretary Ashalatha S Kotian, joint treasurer Shankar R Shetty and others were present on the dais.
Shreya Satish Shetty offered the prayers. Sangha joint secretary Ashalatha S Kotian compered the programme. Honorary secretary Shankar D Poojary proposed the vote of thanks.
