Mumbai, Apr 26: Sneha S Salina and Hiraj V Kotian emerged as Miss Billava and Mr Billava, respectively at the colourful Billava Fashion Show – 2010 held as part of the eighth annual day of Billavara Association, Khandivili. Adarsha Dampati – 2010, competition to find ideal couple saw couple, Shankar Poojary and Shobha emerge as winners.
Billavara Association, Mumbai vice-president L V Amin presided over the glittering ceremony held at the Sri Narayana Guru Sabhagruha of Billava Bhavan at Santacruz (East), here on Sunday April 25. Prominent community achievers too were felicitated on the occasion. Community veteran Leelavati Jaya Suvarna, Keshav Poojary couple of Sony Transport Services, N G Poojary, chief manager, Janakalyan Sahakari Bank, Bhaskar T Bangera for social service and R D Poojary, retired income tax officer were among the personalities felicitated.
Leelavati Suvarna released the souvenir, Amar Bolli, of the association’s Khandivili branch. Hotelie and Sri Kaveshwara temple managing trustee Raghu L Shetty was the chief guest, while Ganesh Bangera of J B Builders, Indukumar Amin of Kenstro – A Builders and Developers and famous priest K Sadashiva Shanti were among the guests of honour.
Entertainment Extravaganza
As part of the entertainment programme, Billavara Fashion Show – 2010 and Adarsha Dampati – 2010 were held.
In the final round, seven participants walked the ramp and mesmerized the audience. While Sneha Salian was adjudged Miss Billava – 2010 and walked away with the crown, Nisha V Kotian and Nireeksha Sanil were the runners-up. It was Hiraj V Kotian, who bagged the title Mr Billava – 2010 with Sai Gunaranjan Suvarna and Ritik K Amin emerged runners-up.
The contest, Adarsha Dampati – 2010, which was both fun and competitive saw couple, Shankar Poojary and Shobha emerge as Billava Adarsha Dampati - 2010. Couples, Vasudev S Kotian and Sujatha V Kotian as well as Raghunath Suvarna and Shobha R Suvarna couple were the runners-up.
Varija Karkera group rendered the prayers. Gangadhar Paniyoor compered the programme. While Padmanabha Sasihitlu conducted the Billava competition, Tachila A P Kumar Bhandary was the choreographer for Billava Fashion Show. Dr Geetha Salian, Chirag Shah and Nisha L Amin were the judges.
