Mangalore, Apr 27: Seemanth Kumar Singh, who was Bellary SP, has been posted as the commissioner of police to Mangalore city, after promoting him to the rank of deputy inspector general of police (DIG). 

The State government on Monday April 26 effected the transfer of 16 senior IPS officers and promoted two. Seemanth known as Bellary Reddy's man, serving earlier in Bellary was transferred on promotion as DIG and awaiting posting since last three months.

Seemant Kumar Singh is not new to the Dakshina Kannada (DK) district and had served as DK superintendent of police from December 2000 to February 2004 with the distinction of longest serving SP in the district. While in district he had effectively handled several law and order situation including communal riots. He was later transferred and posted as deputy commissioner of police, headquarters, Bangalore. 

Gopal B Hosur, who was inspector general of police (western range) aand in-charge commissioner of police, Mangalore has been transferred without posting and Bipin Gopal Krishna, who was additional director general of police (prisons) (ADGP), has been made ADGP (internal security) for Bangalore among others.

    Congratulations to him. really he is one of the best police officers mangalore city has ever got. he deserves this promotion. i have personal experience of his great and honest work.it was in the year 2000 when we had some bad experience against one corrupt S.I and we complained against that S.I to him. he immediately took action without delay. we need these type of efficient police officers. may god give him success.

    If any officer taged as his man or her man that is not @ all good news.What he did for Tappal Ganesh?? He was attacked with his family members by(un) known criminals in Bellary,Mr S.K Singh was then SP of Bellary!!

    We have to wait till what he delivers and for the information of our friends he was also a controversial police officer.Good luck in DK.

    What a surprise!!!!! Can you remember, why did he transfer from Mangalore in 2004???? Because he was one of the honest and strict officer while in district he had effectively handled several law and order situation including communal riots, he arrested some Goons and criminals who involved in M D Jabbar and Yusuf murder but BJP & Sangaparivaar conduct protest procession against him for arrest who belongs to sanga parivaar and blame him that he is anti hinduthva ,its led by M P Sadananda gowda, now BJP is the rulers ,Simanth kumaar back to Mangalore with promotion . what about now ????????Where is Sadananda gowda, BJP and Sangaparivaar ???? Hinduthva ,Secular all about only politics .

    This was supposed to happen one day or the other now the S.P. will not be able to do his duties. Under the leadership of Mr. Gopal Hosur everthing was fine. Now I dont think thing's will run Smoothly anyway we will wait and see.
