Udupi, Oct 27: Price of jasmine flower which was soaring high since the last three weeks and stood at the maximum level of Rs 1,250 per 'Atte' witnessed sudden collapse on the Vijayadashami day, Monday October 26 and reached the level of Rs 420.
During the Navaratri festival, Jaaji flower also commanded good price and was sold at around Rs 850. On Sunday it was quoted at Rs 630 but on the next day, its price came down to Rs 220 per 'Atte'.
Jasmin was sold at Rs 1,050 on October 6 but it went up to Rs 1,250 the next day and stayed at that level for the next 19 days. Two records were created this year. One was that the price touched the highest limit of Rs 1,250 and stayed there for 19 days and secondly, the jasmine market at Shankarapura remained closed for a couple of weeks due to coronavirus fears.
