Udupi: Kidnap of minor girl by youth from other community - Pro-Hindu organizations hold protest

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (MS)

Udupi, Oct 31: Pro-Hindu organizations on Saturday October 31, held protest in front of Hiriadka police station shouting slogans against the kidnapping of a Hindu minor girl by young man of other community.

Though the incident occurred three days ago, police are not able to trace the girl. The pro-Hindu organizations held protest in this connection. More than 300 people belonging to Hindu organizations and BJP leaders gathered in front of Hiriadka police station.

An appeal was submitted to the SP through the ASP in which the organizations have alleged that the minor Hindu girl is kidnapped by a young boy of other community. This is a case of Love Jihad. All those who are involved in this should be arrested immediately, they urged.

Addressing the protesters, after receiving the appeal, ASP Jaishankar said, "Already four teams are formed under the leadership of SP. In addition, the CCTV footage is also available. The movements of the accused are being tracked. He will be arrested soon. Nothing can be said about the investigation. It may hamper the arrest. We are confident of arresting the culprit soon. We want cooperation from everyone."

The protesters warned the ASP of severe protest if the accused is not arrested soon.

Minor is a very generic term; even someone few months younger to majority & a child who is not even a teenager is legally a minor! Also there is a thin line between kidnapping & eloping!

If one is near major age then nobody will have the guts to forcibly take her away!
Kidnapping a small child is a big crime!

Simply ask her whether she has gone with her consent, & the mystery will be solved!

well said , now a days 18 as age of consent does not nake sense , many below 18 intimacies r rampant and pushed under the carpet. When it's get reported only boy gets arrested. Wisdom of keeping age of marriage at age puberty is the only solution .

it is better to stay away from minors in terms of dealing including marriage, lending, partnership etc.

these dealings are void in the eyes of law... minor can repudiate...further he / she may claim undue influence by the other person...

Why ? is the boy Minor ?

Instead of removing loop holes in the community you are questioning the victim. Stand for the righteousness. Call the elders & Investigate / Introspect, why these things are continually happening with you guys.

Though a minor by age, she might have eloped on her own for whatever reasons best known to her!

How can one jump to a conclusion that she has been kidnapped without proper investigation?

The above is only a personal opinion!

BJP MLA, Ram Kadam of Ghatkopar, Mumbai told in the election meeting thus:

If you call me saying "I have proposed a girl and need your help".....I will definitely help you.....I will kidnap that girl and give her to you"

Next day in the papers it came "Ram Kadam will kidnap the girls, even if they reject proposals".

Ram Kadam was in Shiv Sena. Raj Thackeray said "when he was in Shiv Sena, he was Ram, after joining BJP, he has become Raven"

Naresh Udipi, can protest so long and how you want.I am sure both of them must have married already.and girl will certainly tell I had gone willingly with my own wish.Instead of wild protest and making others responsible etc.kindly try with patience and good words with both of them ,so that they might give off or come to a better conclusion.
