Mangalore, May 1: Education and career fair organized by Rotary Club South and Educare Trust was inaugurated at Milagres hall on Saturday May 1 with participation of various educational institutions of the city.

Dr M Mohan Alva, chairman of Alva's Education Foundation inaugurated the fair. He said that most of the students suffer from lack of guidance after completing SSLC, PUC and other few other courses. Such education and career fair are thus helpful for such students as they guide them on selecting a proper course to continue their education, he said adding that guidance is foremost in any field to lead one in the right path, he said.

Dr Alva called on the parents to participate in education and career fair instead of insisting children to choose certain courses like medical or engineering courses, he said and added that students should choose the course according to what they want to achieve in life.

As many as 30 institutions are participating in the fair. They are facilitating students by giving information and displaying specialities of their institutions. Seminars on career opportunity were also conducted at the two-day programme. The guidance on various competitive exams and professional courses were also organized along with some competitions related to career development.
