In a Facebook post, the minister hailed Murali Kadekar and said that the teacher accepted his thanks in a humble way. He said teachers like Kadekar are the real strength of the society. He has hailed the teacher for his gesture and prayed to the Lord to extend the strength to him to continue with his noble gestures like the one above.

Speaking to daijiworld, Kadekar said he was happy that his work had been recognised by the state education minister. "I feel proud and happy that the state education minister has wished me well and recognised my gesture. I had never expected such an honour from the minister. I did not even have his phone number. This morning out of the blue I received a call from the minister. He appreciated my service. I knew that Suresh Kumar is a very conscientious, sensible and kindhearted person.

"I donated a house to the poor student not for any recognition but to satisfy my yearning to do something for society. I feel proud that Suresh Kumar is the education minister when I am retiring from my service as principal of Nittur high school," he added.

I fully agree with Cynthia comments. Being a Minister and high salaried person, he shoould have showed same gesture. I appreciate the kind gesture of this Teacher who has shown than money is not everything. there are people with lots of money, but have no heart to spend it. What a pity. Salute to this Teacher. Sir, initiative should have begun from your end... You are much much more capable than our teachers in doing so.... Our teachers are really great. Majority of teachers of school /colleges really work hard for the students not just meant for getting salaries....Few work on the principle of partiality which affects the student badly. Salute to our teachers
