Mangalore: The Reverse Show – All About Precision, Pace

Mangalore May 3: It was testing times for all the avid vehicle users, of course with a dash of fun. The reversing skills of four-wheeler drivers and slow pace riding of two-wheeler users were put to test at Great Reverse Show and two-wheeler slow race organized by Agnel's Ad-Venture on Sunday May 2.
As many as 40 participants for reverse show and 20 for two-wheeler slow race assembled at the St Agnes Special School grounds. Events that were fiercely competitive also mighty impressed the crowd.
It was a great source of entertainment to watch the expert car drivers at times struggling to manoeuvre the four-wheeler on a reverse on a curved track and two-wheeler in slow motion. Most of the participants used cars with only two participants using jeeps for the reverse show, while for slow race of two-wheelers the geared and the non-geared vehicles were almost equal in number.
Niranjan Raj Urs, police inspector of Mangalore East station inaugurated the show. He said that reversing is a technique that most of the experts too find difficult to execute. Active participation in such shows will go a long way in establishing expertise in driving, he said.
Alwyn Patrao, district governor of Lions Club presided. G R Shetty, regional chairperson of Lions Club, first vice-district governor J K Rao and entrepreneur Praveen Patrao were also present.
