Bantwal: Lorry laden with jelly stones topples - One killed, another injured

Bantwal, Nov 4: A man was killed on the spot after a lorry laden with jelly stones toppled on Punacha Bulerikatte road in Palthadka village here in Vittal on Wednesday November 4.

It is said that the accident took place after the lorry driver lost control over the vehicle. In the incident, the driver was trapped under the lorry for several minutes. Later, with the help of locals, he was rescued. The cleaner of the lorry has also injured in the incident.

The deceased was Muhammad Rafique, resident of Ballur in Kasargod district.

Vittal police visited the spot.

It is said that stones are being transported to Kerala from several quarries from the surroundings of Punacha. Pedestrians and drivers of mini vehicles are worried about the speeding trucks.
