Mangaluru: Former minister Vinay Kulkarni arrest - BJP leaders welcome CBI's move

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Nov 5: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) detained former Karnataka minister and Congress leader Vinay Kulkarni and taken him into custody for interrogation, in connection with the 2016 murder case of Yogesh Gowda, a BJP leader from Dharwad. BJP leaders have welcomed this move.

In the wake of this arrest, minister K S Eshwarappa said, "At one time power and money were being used for murder and extortion. But one cannot say that the same government will remain in power forever. Vinay Kulkarni is arrested by CBI. I welcome their action. CBI is going to investigate this case impartially. If Vinay Kulkarni comes out unscathed in the investigation I will be happy. There is no question of taking Vinay Kulkarni into BJP."

Giving his views on the subject, BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel said, "CBI was conducting investigation as per law in the murder case of zilla panchayat member. The arrest of Vinay Kulkarni is the lawful decision of CBI. BJP had urged for investigation right after the murder took place. Our intention was that Yogesh Gowda's family should get justice. CBI has taken legal action after all investigation and inspection. Congress had the habit of finding politics in everything. During Congress regime also CBI raids and arrests were happening. Was it being done due to their instigation? CBI is an autonomous body and it has arrested Kulkarni as per law."

Speaking on the arrest of Vinay Kulkarni by CBI, chief minister B S Yediyurappa said, "Vinay Kulkarni is an accused in the murder case of Yogesh Gowda. That is why CBI has arrested him. CBI has got evidence that is why they have taken him into custody. Everyone's intention is that the family of slain Yogesh Gowda should get justice at least now. It is absolutely false propaganda that Vinay Kulkarni is going to join BJP."

As long as the CBI remains under the government, the result of any investigation will be exactly what the government wants. High time to wind up the CBI as it has lost all the Trust and confidence of the people of being Independent and Impartial and having lost all its Relevance and credibility.

No doubt that all BJP leaders have welcomed the move of the CBI.

I too welcome this step. Criminals not to be spared. But these leaders one small question for you. Why you are against arrest of Arnab Goswami? Just because he is pet of Modi? Why you are silent on Sanjiv Bhat?

When ruling party does it is justice...if opposition does it is murder. If there is a gain it is justice for the family...if not it is just a incident/accident. Jai Bharath.
