Mangalore: It is Official – New Airport Terminal to be Thrown Open on May 15

Mangalore, May 6: The earlier reports about the inaugural of the new airport terminals in the city and Mysore on May 15, were confirmed by the state Chief Minister, B S Yeddyurappa, on Wednesday May 5. He said, that the issue of opening these two terminals for serving the public was discussed with the union minister for aviation, Praful Patel, and that the latter had agreed to inaugurate both these terminals on May 15.
“As on date, no regular flights operate from Mysore airport. We expect airlines to come forward to operate flights from here shortly,” he hoped. Yeddyurappa also disclosed that during the visit of the secretary in the department of civil aviation in the central government, he had requested the latter to start operating flights from Belgaum and Bidar airports, and got a positive response from him to this request. He also revealed that the works relating to the construction of airports in Shimoga and Gulbarga would begin during this month.
