Bantwal, Nov 10: “Is whatever happened during Bantwal municipal council elections Congress–SDPI political adjustment or ‘Love Jihad’?” asked state Keonics corporation president, district BJP vice president Harikrishna Bantwal.
Speaking in the news conference held in the BC Road BJP office on Monday, he said that SDPI and Congress had held a secret meeting and made a pact in a hotel the previous night. “SDPI are not the ones who raise their hands for nothing. Therefore, former minister Ramanath Rai should disclose the secret behind the pact,” he urged.
“BJP had 11 seats and were confident of obtaining majority seats with 13 votes including the votes of MP and MLA. But Congress and SDPI in their joint affairs overnight came to power,” said Harikrishna Bantwal criticizing.
“Congress party had withdrawn cases against SDPI activists who had held blood bath including the murder of Sharath Madiwal and the relationship has continued.”
Hindus in Congress should come out:
“The posts of president and vice presidents in the council have gone to minorities. Aren't Hindu members in Congress? One position could have been given to the Hindus. But there was cheating here too. Hindus in Congress should come out from the party if they have prestige,” he challenged. “It is our responsibility to make them win after issuing BJP tickets if they come to BJP,” he said.
Ramanath Rai is a liar:
“Ramanath Rai who has not done what he promised so far, is a liar. The political drama will begin the downfall of his politics. His promise that he will not adjust with communal parties before the elections, insult of Janardhan Poojary and the series of lies over stone quarries in Karinja are well known. He had alleged that the relatives of Bantwal MLA are running a stone quarry in Mudipu and remained quiet after the MLA gave clarification showing that it was a lie. The stone quarry, in fact, belongs to the relatives of MLA Khader,” he said.
BJP’s Devappa Poojary, Devadas Shetty, Dombayya Arala, Sudarshan Baja, Ranjith Maira, Lokesh Ermekadu, Jayarama Naika, Chidananda Rai, Chandravati Kariangala, Purushotham Shetty, Seetarama Poojary, Ganesh Rai Mani, Bharathi Chouta, Harshini, Mahesh Shetty, Dhananjay Shetty and others were present.
