Udupi: Car abandoned in paddy field evokes curiosity, turns out to be student's

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (MS)

Udupi, Nov 15: A car found abandoned in a paddy field in front of Gopalkrishna temple near Kelaparkala here on Sunday November 15 has evoked curiosity among the locals.

The car bearing Kerala registration number KL 01 AV 4981 had no signs of damage.

Locals who gathered at the spot wondered how the car came to be in the middle of the field. They reasoned that if the car had met with some mishap, there would have been signs of at least minor damage, but there were no mud marks either. The paddy field where the car was found is full of tall shrubs and plants, still, there was no indication of any car passing over them.

It was even suspected that the car might have been left after the inmates took part in some criminal activity.

The matter was brought to the attention of the police by the locals.

Upon investigation, it came to light that the car in fact belonged to a student. He lost control of the car when he tried to take reverse and entered the paddy field, sources said.

As he was getting late for exams, the student left the car at the spot, intending to take it back in a day or two.

It is learnt that the student has already approached the police to claim the car and has already produced his documents for verification.

    --- KL!!!

police have to investigate throughly crime angle...

if he knows driving...he would apply brake... how can the car be in "middle of the field"...

any normal driver would apply brake immediately and seek assistance from towing agency...

there is more to this than the student's version...

suspicion arises whether the car was taken there to avoid visibility to vehicles / pedestrians passing on the road...

bring sniffer dogs and verify whether any drug consignment / contraband is hidden around the place...
