Four-time weekly Mysuru-Mangaluru flights to start from December 11

Mysuru, Nov 23: The long felt dream for flights between Mysuru and Mangaluru is going to be a reality. Alliance Air, a subsidiary of government owned Air India will take off between the cities, four times in a week from December 11.

The flights will operate on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The flight will take off from Mysuru at 11.20 am and land in Mangaluru at 12.30 pm. On the return journey, the flights from Mangaluru will be at 12.55 pm landing in Mysuru at 1.55 pm.

Nearly 60,000 Mangaluru-based families live in Mysuru. Therefore, several local groups and businessmen had urged for the flights between the two cities.

    Connect Mangalore with some international cities like Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand. Not much use by connecting with some Tier 3 town

    All said and done...unless there are Govt bus services to get to and from the airport the common man is not benefitted from this

    Unless this is a route subsidized by the government, it won't stick. Low demand combined with Alliance Air is not the right formula. Mangalore-Pune and Mangalore-Kochi are better prospects than this route.

    More regional connectivity is needed in India than just connecting to big cities. There is need for flights from Mangaluru to Pune via Belgaum, to Hubli via Goa.

    Very good move, Mysuru is beautiful city , nice & clean, lovely people, far better than Mangaluru, beautiful one day perfect the next, please make best use of this new initiative by Alliance Air.
