Bengaluru, Nov 23: Former minister Jayaprakash Hegde has been appointed as the president of Karnataka State Backward Classes Commission.

A notification to this effect was sent by Sripathi P K, undersecretary of state government, backward class welfare department.

According to the notification, this will come into effect immediately and will continue till further notice.

Jayaprakash Hegde speaking to Daijiworld said, “I am glad to be appointed and thankful to the BJP-led state government and the chief minister. There is ample opportunity available in politics to render service. My first and prime responsibility is to perform my work diligently that has been given to me by the chief minister. I will go to Bengaluru tomorrow and will examine the progress along with pending works in the commission. I have been working even when I was not in power. To perform my work effectively I will study previous reports to understand the purpose of the commission. I have to study the reports of Chinnappa Reddy, Havanur, Venkatswamy, and Ravivarma Kumar first. Then I will continue my work according to the report. I will put the effort into getting justice for the people of the backward class. My wellwishers, fans, and friends had an opinion that I should get a good post in the BJP government and now I have that opportunity. They are quite elated about this”.

Jayaprakash Hegde, an immensely talented politician, yet was under utilized till date by the concerned political parties. He is one of those rare politicians known for his ability to serve the people round the clock. He has worked for the backward classes in the past and the Backward Class commission should open more opportunities for him. For backward classes its the time for celebration! Here is someone who would really address the issues. best wishes!
