Mangaluru, Nov 23: Days after the pro-Kannada organisations called for a ‘Karnataka bandh’ on December 5, to protest against the state government’s decision to constitute a Maratha Development Board, Sri Rishi Kumar Swami of Kali Mutt in Arsikere on Monday, November 23, stirred a fresh controversy by asking the people to pelt stones on miscreants, who forcefully shut business establishment in the name of Karnataka Bandh.
Speaking at a press meet organised by the Ram Sena, Karnataka here, Rishi Kumar Swami said, "People in the state have not recovered from the financial crisis following Covid-19 pandemic. These miscreants in the name of Kannada are insulting the Kannadanadu through goondaism and forcing the people to shut their business establishments."
"If anyone comes to you, asking to forcefully shut your business, pelt them with stones," he said sternly.
He also called upon chief minister to order a shoot-out against those miscreants who indulge in violence and threatening people. "End these miscreants by shooting them, then the entire state will be peaceful. Who has given them the right to invade people's right? he questioned.
He also said that the state government’s decision to constitute a Maratha Development Board is for the development of that community. These people who are opposing this, tomorrow will also oppose development boards for Tuluvas or Konkanis. Development Boards for any caste will help for the upliftment the Hindu society.
He also questioned whether Marathas are not paying tax to the government. "Who are you to question the decision of the government?" he said.
Taking a dig at former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy on his statement on the development for Vokkaligas, Swamy said, "Why has he not formed a development board for Vokkaligas when he served as the chief minister of the state for two terms?"
Without naming any organisations or persons. Swamy referring to the Supreme Court orders against the mosques using loudspeakers during Azan said, "Why do you not have guts to stop it? Or dare to remove name boards written Urdu?"
He also stressed that such miscreants are a threat to society and can cause bloodshed.
