Mangalurean RSS worker Narayan elected unopposed to Rajya Sabha from Karnataka

Bengaluru, Nov 24 (IANS): Relatively unknown RSS worker K. Narayan, who was the BJP's nominee for the Rajya Sabha bypoll in Karnataka, was on Monday declared elected unanimously.

Karnataka Assembly Secretary, Vishalakshi declared him elected unopposed as both Congress and Janata Dal-S did not field candidates.

When Narayan's name was cleared by the BJP's central leaders last week for the Rajya Sabha seat, it was a surprise for many in the ruling party as he was unknown to many until then.

The seat fell vacant after sitting BJP member Ashok Gasti succumbed to Covid-19 in September. Gasti too was elected unopposed in June this year.

Narayan, the owner of a printing press in Mangaluru, had been a close and dedicated follower of the RSS and he used print materials like pamphlets for RSS and its affiliated wings free of cost.

He is also editor of the "Tuluvere Kedige", a Tulu magazine, a language extensively spoken in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts in Karnataka.

Meanwhile, BJP's newly elected MLAs - N. Munirathna of Rajrajeshwari Nagar and Rajesh Gowda of Sira in Tumkuru - formally took their oath as MLAs. Both had won in the recent bypolls.

In fact BJP has been fair to all its cadres. We have seen 3 people from minority contest elections last year. There is major shift of minorities to BJP and also other non Congress party. Able youngsters are lured by the BJP, JDS, DFI etc. Its an alarming sign, but the Kudla Congress still lives in wonderland and firmly believe they can pull off a massive victory with the likes of Ramanatha Rai, Ivan , JR, Lobo, J Pojari , Mithun , Bava, etc.

Can anyone define and explain the meaning of- grassroot worker...,

Does it count to understand that - breeding hateredness, vengeance, revenge, enimity etc., In the name of religion, cast, creed, colour, nationalism, culture etc., amount to mean & add value to define the definition of hard working grassroot worker..., though I beg to differ... , the contextually identifying with the umbilical relationship makes me think otherwise...!!!

If I choose to embrace cheddi sanskaar.. do I may be able to fulfill my political aspirations...,

All happened because of MK Gandhi..
When all religion fought for independence, he ensured only Muslims get their own country.
What sin other religions have done?
Why Hindus, Christians, Buddist, Farsi, Jains, Sikhs (sorry if I miss any other religion) did not get their country?

over that, most sarcastic is those who got their country are trying to dominate those who did not get any country...

This is a rare but welcome trend, that a relatively unknown face has been elevated to the hallowed precincts of the Rajya Sabha..... Netas always prefer their own progeny or sycophants, to occupy powerful seats of power. Wonder why did the INC and JDS, gave a absolute, meek walkover to the BJP nominee K. Narayan ???
