Mangaluru, Nov 24: Referring to the land allotment to Coast Guard and a cow shelter facing closure, Sri Rishikumar Swami of Kalika Math, Arsikere said, “When I look at the decision to close Kapila Park cow shelter, I recall the state government’s words which said in their election manifesto that they will impose ban on cow slaughter within 24 hours after coming to power. I want to ask the government whether they are imposing a ban on cow slaughter or ban on cow shelter.

Addressing media on Tuesday November 24, he said, “I want to ask MP Nalin Kumar Kateel who sought votes of Hindus by wearing saffron shawl raising the slogan 'Jai Go Matha' and B S Yediyurappa who came to power using the name of Hindu religion. Cannot they notice Kapila Park cow shelter which on the verge of closure?

“An official named Binoy is threatening to destroy the cow shelter. Who is in support of these officials who threaten? Is it Nalin? Is it possible for him to threaten without the support of Nalin?

“We respect Nalin, but he needs to save the cow shelter. Members of BJP are living their life by telling lies and also a lie that they are pro-Hindu. They said about protecting cows. When they will do it? Was it a falsely written in the manifesto about banning cow slaughter? If the government could not save this cow shelter then this government is not a pro-Hindu government.

“If the cows have no shelter to live, then why drape that saffron shawl? There is no need to threaten to evict the cow shelter. There is a certain legal procedure which has to be followed. We are suspicious that MP Nalin has joined hands with the officials. I urge all the Swamijis to take steps to save this cow shelter,” he said.

Trustee of the shelter Prakash Shetty said, “Kapila Park (Regd) located at Pejawar, Kenjar post here, has been operating a cow shelter for indigenous breeds at Kenjar Pejawar. The unique feature of this shelter it that it has been breeding the 'Kapila' breed of cows from Karnataka, a religious species on the verge of extinction, besides others. The trust has been looking after the cows in a building spread over 12,000 square feet since the last eight years spread over Maravoor and Kenjar village.

“The shelter since the last some months is being managed by Sumedha Trust run by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh volunteers under the guidance of the trust. The land in question was brought from individuals legally and the land on which the cow shelter stands is not disputed.

“The land where the cow shelter stands is now planned to be allocated to the Coast Guard to establish its facilities. We are under immense pressure from Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board officials since a month to vacate the land to make way for the Coast Guard. It is the duty of citizens to protect the rare breed of cows and the cow shelter is now facing eviction. We have requested the chief minister through a letter to see that the shelter is saved. We have the blessings of the Pejawar Swamiji and Vajradehi Swamiji to uphold the ideals of Hindu religion and hence sought the chief minister's support to continue to operate the cow shelter facility,” he said.

What’s wrong with this Swami-ji? And who is he? Trying to get some attention? Publicity?
Have he ever spoken on issues like peace and harmony in the society? Social agendas like homes for poor, free medical facilities for poor, justice for farmers etc?
What a shame. Wearing saffron doesn’t make one a saint.
So Swamiji please, don’t try to decide this society which is already decided so many times and so many devisions.
Try to be a human at least. Then try to be a real Swamiji.

Instead of wasting time like this... ask some donation for the home base -no work opportunity 900 millions poor people & think how to feed them in this pandemic. If there is still more energy .. donation some blood in hospital to the needy to save lives..become a Hero..
Cow is a high priority list because that brings Votes...Easy Publicity these days..

If Cow Shelters function well then BD cow boys will be out of job. No one to remind and keep people aware to keep the kettle boiling of cow cause where some BD agents too are involved in cow theft, do media show and let off all known friendly cow thieves. This Swami is only shedding crocodile tears here who inspires people to get into violance and killing humans but showing high fake compassion for cows.

Your role is over now as BJP temporary arbitrator. You won't be seen any more. Cows and Hindutva is not higher than BJP. It's only a tool and stepping stone and its for the people to worship with closed eyes while BJP does Hera Pheri.

To understand the pain farmwes going through, all those who speak and make politics using cows should adopt one cow per one person policy.
Including MP, MLA and all short term and long term Rakshask.

Else all these should be branded as fake cow bhakth or Gober Bhakth.

Disclaimer : dont challenge my credentials currently I am talking care of 3 cows at my farm.

Better to close the cow shelters instead open for those poor people from street , small children who sleep on pavement, at least you can give proper accommodation and food and make the place as worship place , Taking care of\of cows is not so easy , need to supply fodder, grass, medical treatment and proper care with surrounding environment , if you ca not take of our elderly and sick parents in our won homes and leaving on street or orphanage how can you take care f cows for long run . also shelter need manpower and if same manpower dont want to attend regular work, then it is torture for innocent animal.
Swami jee should be politician .

Can this Swamiji and the dignitaries seated with him confirm if the land on which the cow Shelter is established is legally given to the shelter to run ? No, even then it's not a fundamental right to continue the shelter there and not to vacate it when the government wants the land for Coast Guard needs. Even fertile lands of farmers were acquired, then what right does this cow shelter command to oppose ?

The biggest challenge is not banning cow slaughter but taking care aged cows. We are running behind in helping our poor, needy and downtrodden and at this time, we have Go matha. I think we are all fooled by this religion. Please work for humanity and live by the values. We will soon become like Pakistan, Saudi, Afghanistan where only religion is preferred and become a country only religion oriented. Let's move on the footsteps of developed nations where there is lovely life. We have suffered enough and let's not make our future generations too bear the same. Like Arabs religion and authority is going hand in hand in my country and thus my heart beats for the good. We must have religion for peace of mind and the world suffers the peace because religion exists.

My only wish in a country like India to Ban temples, church and Masjid and to build public worship places for all the religions. If God's doesn't fight between them, why you and I have to create a division? We are Selfish
