Bengaluru: B S Paramashivaiah appointed chairman of Veerashaiva Corporation

Bengaluru, Nov 24: The Karnataka Veerashaiva Vidyabhivrudhi Samsthe president B S Paramashivaiah has been appointed as the chairman of the newly formed Karnataka Veerashaiva-Lingayat Development Corporation (KVLDC).

The corporation is constituted for the all-round development of the politically influential community in the state and significantly chief minister B S Yediyurappa belongs to this community.

The Yediyurappa-led BJP government has released Rs 500 crore for the Corporation on Monday.

Paramashivaiah, is the resident of Hampinagar in Vijayanagar in Bengaluru.

The chief minister has formed the corporation following pressure on him from legislators belonging to the community.
