Bengaluru: 'Ravi Poojary's safety should be ensured'- High court

Bengaluru, NOv 25: The sessions court had upheld the request of the Mumbai police to hand underworld element Ravi Poojary over to them for investigating certain cases at Mumbai. Ravi Poojary has filed a petition in the high court seeking cancellation of the court order as he said he fears for his life there.

Ravi Poojary is currently lodged at the central prison at Parappana Agrahara here relating to the murder of Shabnam Developers employees.

His application came before a single judge bench of the high court presided over by Justice R Nataraj, on Tuesday November 24. The bench which heard arguments, ordered issuance of emergent notices to defendants, Karnataka government, Mumbai city police commissioner and DCB-CID director. It also directed the Mumbai police to take all necessary safety measures to protect Ravi Poojary's life if he is taken to Mumbai for investigation.
