Kundapur, Nov 25: “Voters do not have personal expectations from elected representatives. In the circumstances, we should mix with ordinary citizens and take part in their joy and sufferings to get ourselves recognised,” said state minister of law, parliamentary affairs and legislation, J C Madhu Swamy. He was speaking after inaugurating the family get-together programme held by BJP Byndoor Mandala at Uppunda Madikal seashore on Tuesday evening.
“There should be improvements and changes if India should be a force to reckon with in the world. Unique programmes such as this become meaningful when we get feelings of living with others responding to each other’s needs in a family called a political party,” he said.
“We should celebrate the moment within the spiritual and cultural framework. Everybody should give up expensive lifestyle, imitation of foreign culture and celebrate everything within limits,” he said.
MLA B M Sukumar Shetty presided over the programme. MP B Y Raghavendra felicitated senior BJP activists. Coastal development authority president, Mattar Rathnaker Hegde, district panchayat member, K Babu Shetty, Suresh Batwadi, Shanker Poojary, taluk panchayat president Mahendra Poojary, district president Kuyilady Suresh Nayak, taluk panchayat members and various unit office bearers were present.
