Bengaluru: BJP plans to move no-confidence motion against council chairman

Bengaluru, Nov 26: The BJP legislators have decided to move a no-confidence motion against the chairman of the state legislative council, Prathapchandra Shetty.

BJP legislators have served notice in this connection to the secretary of the legislative council. They have accused the council chairman of being partisan in discharging his legislative duties and also of improperly discharing his constitutional responsibilitis.

The BJP cannot on its own remove the chairman. It is said that the JD(S) will support the BJP if the no-confidence motion is moved against the council chairman.
