The earlier effort made by the agency had failed as Baig had fallen ill. Baig returned to prison after his discharge from the hospital on Monday. Immediately the CBI officials filed an application in the court seeking his custody, The court, which heard the petition, ordered Baig to be handed over to CBI till 5 pm on December 2. After that, he needs to be produced in the court. The court postponed the hearing of the bail application moved by Baig to December 4.
The CBI officers told the court that when he was given to their custody in the past, Biag had not cooperated with the investigation. He could not be questioned as he was hospitalised for health reasons. Therefore, they sought his custody. It is said that even though the current custody has been given for one day, till Wednesday evening, they are likely to plead for additional custody for further questioning when producing him in the court, today.
