Mangalore, May 27: The close relatives of Navid Ibrahim Siraj from Udupi, whose identity was confirmed through DNA test, refused to take the mortal remains identified to be that of Siraj. They doubted the accuracy of the DNA test.

Siraj’s was one out of the ten bodies, identifications of which were established through DNA test. After this information was conveyed to the family, Shamir, brother of the deceased, his father and other relatives came to Attavar KMC Hospital to claim the body.

“None of the physical attributes found in Navid Ibrahim are seen in the body shown to us. Navid was 23, but the body identified appears to be of a man aged between 40 and 45 years. Navid had shaved his beard and moustache, but this body has thick moustache. Navid was shorter and leaner as against this body having contrasting features.  Navid Ibrahim had sent in his photograph a few days before his death. He did not have hair on his chest, whereas this body has them,” Shamir contended.

On this occasion, Hanif, secretary of Muslim Central Committee, felt that it would be better to pool all the bodies at one place after the DNA test reports of all the bodies are received, so that the relatives will be able to properly assess the features and identify the bodies of their close relatives by coming together at a time.

I am very much impressed the way Sagar, Kankanady and shahnawaz kukkikatte, dubai/udupi voiced their differences in opinion in such a dignified and polite way. Hats off to both of you. Having lost my close family members and having identified the bodies after 2 days of running from one morgue to other in 8 hospitals in Mangalore non stop, I fully agree with Mr. Shahnawaz Kukkikatte’s notion that a dead man deserves a respectful burial according to the belief he lived in. Most of the relatives have found the correct body. Some were of doubtful nature, yet they strongly believed it to be their loved ones, A few might have wrongly claimed someone else’s body. Death is a great equalizer but let the diseased family give their final respects the way they think it proper.

Asalamwallukum Shahnawazbhai,Very sad to note cannot able to findout correct bodies of victims.
Upto now DNA test not proved reliable all over the world and many centers already closed down due to false report. We cannot keep full faith on it as the bodies completely charred and beyond the recognization. In this case I half-heartedly agree with Mr.Sagar's point of view better to avoid to carry wrong body of other person instead to have mass grave to avoid confusion. Khudhhafeez.

Ms.Sujata Suvarna Better to sit quiet rather than half baked knowledge. There is not at all any nonsense what Mr.Sagar has informed.

It is very easy by people to comment.
It is the right of the relative of dead to identity and fulfill final ritual respectfully.
Relatives may not object to pay event the DNA expenses.
But the negligence or mis coordination is punishable.
This news torturing us, then we should think about deceased relatives.
    God bless all.

Mr Sagar Please read this news form canarworld "Naveed, a resident of Kodavoor Nergi near Malpe, had left for the Gulf just 11 months back and was working in a petroleum company. "He was coming here to change his visa for another job as he was having health problems in the present job,'' said his father.

"My wife (Nafisa Begum) is totally heart-broken. At least she had hoped of seeing the body and getting some peace. Now that too seems impossible,'' he added. The family has informed the Air India officials and also city police commissioner Seemanth Singh about this. AI officials said they would ask for another DNA test, said Gafoor. "
Can you please try to understand this mothers feeling.

Dear Sagar,it seems you do not have any feelings of human kind.We are still in shock of the happened incident.
Did you visited any once's house who lost their dear one?
Try to visit a mother who lost her son or a young wife who lost her husband. You will realize the value of a human kind.
Hope you will do that before mentioning Jai ho..

    Dear Mr Sagar/Mangalore

My friend still I could not understand your logic. Mass graves and mass burial/cremation can be taken place when disaster like earth quake, war or flood takes place and wipes out thousands and where there are no resources to bury/cremate. This air crash is an isolated incident and that too people have died in their native land who has relations and next of kin.

Yes I agree the identification of ones remains is a difficult task but the prcoess must go on and with the help of prevailing technology and knowledge it wont be difficult to identify the dead. The surprising fact is that how come the DNA proves ones identity wrong. It could be a handler's mistake.

I pray every day in my every prayers for the departed soul and for the members of bereaved families. Rest all the departed soul rest in eternal peace and lets not have any difference of opinion and misuderstaning on the matters of dead victims.

Mr.shahnawaz kukkikatte..by one way you are right..some year's back went to attend funeral of my cousin uncle in mumbai..he his somewhat from affulent business family and had political mileage..there are lot of people attended his funeral..all the roads jammed going towards cremation ground..after some time in cremation ground only few people from poor family (around ten-twelve people) carried a old man's body and kept besides uncle's body to lit fire..immediately my mind struck.. ...my uncle spent whole life with dignity..while at the end going to god's home everybody same...either old poor man or rich uncle..there is no difference in the eyes of god.... here authorities are finding difficult to distinguish body of victims..better solution for mass burial.. it's also give strength to victim's family..may be i am wrong..unless and until we are united..these planet is never going to be peaceful.. and no way to inform we are proud mangaloreans..by saying is good and to act difficult..jai ho..

Mr Sagar, please think before you ink. We mangaloreans have head on our shoulders and not shoulder on our head. How come one accept a body that doesnt belong to him. Does the dead man doesnt deserve a respectful burial according to the belief he lived in until his death? Is it not the responsibility of next of kins and relations of the deceased to give him his last resting place in accordance with the practices he had been in. We cant be hypothetical in our approach in such matters.

Needless to say, we mangaloreans are united and one. but it doesnt mean that one can take away the dead of others.

I am wonder really 2-3 day's back people are very much blowing themselves they are 'mangaloreans'..as human beings are all same derived from one god..why not claim body which is difficult to differentiate at this odd hour..may be due to fire person's appearance will be changed..at this hour we should keep aside all the things and just treat all victims as 'ONE FAMILY'..and not to go deep into tenets of any religion..before only i told you we human beings never change..only for short time..they will give there verdict.and vanish.. we know only to forget and forgive..jai ho..
