Bengaluru: C M Ibrahim on verge of leaving Congress, meets Deve Gowda

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Dec 15: Former union minister C M Ibrahim who appears to have made up his mind to desert the Congress, met JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda on Monday, December 14 and held discussions with him. The other day he had met D K Shivakumar. His recent moves have kicked up a lot of speculations.

Accompanied by the former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy Ibrahim arrived at Deve Gowda's residence in Padmanabha Nagar here and held discussions with him for over an hour. MLA R Manjunath and former MLA Suresh Babu were present at that time. It is said that Ibrahim has put the pre-condition that he should be made the state JD(S) president. Kumaraswamy had arranged this meeting in an effort to get Deve Gowda's nod for this condition.

The move to bring Ibrahim into the JD(S) fold is said to be a well-thought strategy of the JD(S). Knowing this well, Ibrahim has demanded the position of the head of the party's state unit. With an eye to get a good result in the next assembly election, Kumaraswamy is ready to give this position and Deve Gowda's consent is pending.

Ibrahim is angry with Siddaramaiah, who is the political adversary of Kumaraswamy. Ibrahim also commented recently that Siddaramaih's taste has undergone a change. Even though Shivakumar met him on Saturday night and tried to pacify him, he did not succeed. It is said that Ibrahim will announce his decision after December 16.

Kumaraswamy plans to use Ibrahim as a shield against Siddaramaiah, who is seen targeting Kumaraswamy with barbs. He also hopes that Ibrahim will help his party to regain the trust of the minority community that seems to have distanced itself from the party now. It has to be seen whether Deve Gowda will approve of the proposal to make Ibrahim the state president of the party and whether this move if it materialises, benefits the JD(S).

I am very happy that CM Ibrahim is leaving Congress party. I still remember his speech almost 30 years, full of controversy and full of confrontation, inciting disturbance. If he leaves Congress, it is good for the party.

The other day in Urwa Store in Mangaluru, during last LS elections, I think ,there were hardly 2 people to hear him... Yes to hear C M I Bra Him... Wonder what has left in him to take him back ? His own people don't know which party he will be in the morning and which at night? The money he had made as aviation minister during Gowda's rule, not knowing even as to how to fly a kite, might have run out by now....
People shun political creeps these days...Not like before.

CMI is joining JDS , so where and how 'does Lotus operation 'come into pic? Cong is losing a very good candidate mind you. Its now clearly reflects that there is no unity. In fact it was evident during the CAA protests, where all were called out to the streets, but one faction remained indoors and bashed BJP online .

In political terminology... " Out of power, means out of business " Is restless, C.M. Ibrahim, going for " Ghar Wapsi " back towards JDS ??? Certainly this development will be disastrous, for the dysfunctional INC, in the dubious game of musical chairs, being indulged by opportunist netas !!!!

Another set back for the depleting Congress in Ktaka. CM Ibrahim will take with him a big chunk of Congress votes as well. It was already predicted by political pundits that unless otherwise Congress replaces its current leaders with dynamic young faces and also change its strategy , the party is not going to revive. Capable candidates moving to other parties is really alarming.
