Land Reforms Amend Act will attract more investments: CM Yediyurappa

Bengaluru, Dec 16 (IANS): Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa on Wednesday said that the Land Reforms (Amendment) Act-2020 and proposed Labour Reforms Bill will further bolster the efforts to attract more investments to the state.

Inaugurating the 103rd General Body meeting of the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) here, the Chief Minister claimed that the state has been receiving a positive response from industries ever since the government decided to bring in land reforms.

"The state is able to receive 42 per cent of total Foreign Direct Investment due to such bold steps taken to reform in crucial sectors like land as well as labour," he said.

Yediyurappa said that the new Land Reforms Act has eased the buying of land for those who want to invest in the state.

"Under our new industrial policy, any industry can immediately set up shop here. This is another change which is attracting new investors to our state," he said.

The CM also asserted that the state government was more than committed to bring in reforms in the labour sector as well.

"We have proposed some reforms in this sector as well, we will soon take steps for the passage of a Bill too," he said.

With more people letting go of Agriculture (which is sad and we may pay a heavy price in the future), more farmers will sell their land and recover the value from their land, but in the end, with this reforms in place, there is no guarantee that the land will continue to produce useful Agri products. Alternately, those enthusiasts who are fed up of urban life and want to give Agriculture another shot, this is a golden opportunity.

This is blatant capitalism on one hand, which may or may not result in competitive yields in agriculture based on demand, but on the other hand will met another blow to food security. If we see China today, they are staring at massive food shortages. Although China still has massive land available for agriculture and probably also the wherewithal to open those land mass for Agriculture, not sure, the same can be said of India.

I really hope there was end-to-end thinking behind these reforms and not just keeping in mind the flow of funds in the form of registration charges to the exchequer.

    Dear respected CM,
Please bring some reforms where people involve themselves in a productive way rather than bullying business like properties, which is already spoiled the economy and restricted to settled people in rented house. Even big manufacturing sector like Tata, Mahindra, Godrej, L&T ...etc are also diverted their business to property from their regular manufacturing business since the margin is 100% to 200% without much investment by the grace of govt support leads to further poverty and there is no voice for under privileged !!
PLEASE BOAST AGRICULTURE, MANUFACTURING SECTOR AND GOVT TO KEEP FULL CONTROL OVER PROPERTY BUSINESS, AND BUSINESS ON PROPERTY MUST BE RESTRICTED WITH PRICING AND LIMITED TO INDIVIDUALS...I WANT TO SEE MY COUNTRY PROSPERED ..PLEASE LET THERE BE SINCERE SURVEY ON PRESENT PROPERTY BUSINESS AND MARKETING, WHERE THERE IS NO GOVT CONTROL AT ALL

This amended BJP’s Land Reform Act is extended version of farmer’s 3 brutal laws. BJP has been begging till their knees since long for FDI and other investors to invest in India but nobody is interested to invest in India with uncertainty, protests and unfriendly laws. Begging is your profession BJP with your begging bowl PM CARES Fund domestically and abroad.
