Mangaluru: Assault on police head constable on duty - Act captured on CCTV

Mangaluru, Dec 17: A police head constable on duty was assaulted with a sword by a culprit in the city on the morning of Wednesday, December 16. The footage of the shocking act captured on CCTV is out now.

Ganesh Kamath, police head constable of Bunder police station and a woman police personnel were on duty near New Chithra circle in the city. Two scooter-borne miscreants approached the spot. The pillion got down from the bike, went near Ganesh, hit him once with the sword, got up on the bike and escaped from the spot.

Ganesh suffered injuries on his hand and was admitted to a private hospital in the city. The act of assault is captured on a nearby CCTV. Police have taken one person into custody.

    abdul munim udipi,arre baba ,now dont get high tension ,Its only to know whether he is already a known person in this business.Whoever he is ,looks like he had some personally something to clear with that Police.Ask Police if he knows him.Day by day people are not respecting the Police .Here too it is same .But here they will be punished and let not go .

    Most of the vehicles used for crime in Mangalore have blank number plates, fake number plates, defective number plates or are second hand vehicles that are not transferred to the new owner's name. High security number plates are still not mandatory here.

    Put these in a lockup 5-10 constables take lathi and keep swinging show no mercy. If these go to jail they will eat sleep after 10 years come back proper lesson needs to be learnt by these 2 goons
