Kundapur, Dec 18: “Agriculture plays a major part in Indian culture and environment. Therefore, the farmers should make the most of Jeevan Yanthra services,” said Puthige Math seer Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji.
He was speaking after inaugurating and blessing the Jeevan Yanthra Agri Solutions office in Kundapur.
“We can live without any industry but we cannot live without agriculture. Agriculture has a special place and respect in this country. The country will prosper when farmers work believing that land is wealth,” he said.
Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje opened up a coconut sapling and set the programme in motion. She said that life is difficult without agriculture. “The importance of agriculture has increased amid the lockdown. The Centre provides 90% subsidy for drip irrigation and encourages farmers through Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. The farmers are being set free from the grips of middlemen by the Farm Acts. Farmers should prosper and the BJP government has aims to help them prosper before 2023."
Karnataka state backward class commission president Jayaprakash Hegde presided over the programme. Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary and Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat unveiled the emblem of the organization.
District panchayat member Lakshmi Manju Billava, Srilatha Suresh Shetty, Kundapur taluk panchayat president Indira H Shetty, organization general manager Srikanth Bhat, director Sudheendra P Hebbar, Dinesh Prabhu and Uday Kumar were present.
Technical advisor Srinath Rao K welcomed and compered the programme.
