Mangaluru: Introduction of special trains to now ease rail traffic

Mangaluru, Dec 19: As a relief to rail commuters, it has been decided to run special trains between Mumbai CSMT and Karmali/Mangaluru Junction in co-ordination with Central Railway to clear the extra rush of passengers. Details are as below:

1. Train no 02119/02120 Mumbai CSMT-Karmali-Mumbai CSMT Tejas Superfast Special (5 days a week):

Train no 02119 Mumbai CSMT-Karmali Tejas Superfast Special will leave from Mumbai CSMT at 5.50 am every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from December 20 until further advice. The train will reach Karmali at 2.00 pm on the same day.

Train no 02120 Karmali-Mumbai CSMT Tejas Superfast Special will leave from Karmali at 2.40 pm every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from December 20 until further advice. The train will reach Mumbai CSMT at 11.15 pm the same day.

The train will halt at Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Chiplun, Ratnagiri and Kudal stations.

Composition: A total of 15 LHB coaches- Executive class- 1 coach, chair car- 12 coaches, generator car- 2.

2. Train no 01133/01134 Mumbai CSMT-Mangaluru Junction-Mumbai CSMT daily superfast special (fully reserved):

Train no 01133 Mumbai CSMT-Mangaluru Junction. Daily superfast special will leave Mumbai CSMT at 10.02 pm from December 20 until further advice. The train will reach Mangaluru Junction at 13.05 pm the next day.

Train no 01134 Mangaluru Junction-Mumbai CSMT daily superfast special will leave from Mangaluru Junction at 2.00 pm from December 21 until further advice. The train will reach Mumbai CSMT at 4.35 am the next day.

The train will halt at Thane, Panvel, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Karmali, Madgaon Junction, Karwar, Kumta, Bhatkal, Mookambika Road Byndoor, Kundapura, Udupi and Surathkal stations.

Composition: Total 17 coaches = 2 tier AC - 1 coach, composite (2 tier AC + 3 tier AC) - 1 coach, 3 tier AC - 4 coaches, sleeper - 7 coaches, second seating - 2 coaches, SLR - 2.

Bookings for all the above special trains will open from December 19 at all Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counters and IRCTC website.

Passengers are requested to kindly avail the services.

All norms of state and central government regarding COVID-19 including social distancing, sanitization etc should be followed in trains and at the railway stations.
