Kundapur, Dec 21: Villagers of Amasebail in the taluk are frustrated at the fact their demands over several years for basic facilities including roads, bus shelter, drainage, mobile network, menace of wild animals etc have not been attended by successive governments and leaders, have decided not to cast their votes for the gram panchayat election this time. Voters of Holebagilu, Majni, Kortugundi, Dhyasa and other areas are angry that their demand for development works have been overlooked for too long a period.

The problems cited above have been making the lives of the people here miserable. Lack of bus shelter, inner roads, proper drainage, mobile network, and destruction of crops by wild animals etc have made the lives of the people hellish. However, none of the government officials and people's representatives right from the gram panchayat level have cared to provide them a solution to the problems. Frustrated at their agonizing wait, the people have decided to register their protest by boycotting the election.

A meeting was held at Holebagilu on Sunday to discuss problems afflicting the village and to take a decision on boycotting the election. A number of villagers including women were present. Amasebail station house officer Anil Kumar Nayak, visited the spot, discussed the matter with the locals and received a memorandum presented by them.

The villagers said they will take a final decision on the issue of boycotting the election on Monday December 21.
