Udupi: Kasturba Hospital Manipal receives WASH certification from Quality Council of India NABH

Udupi, Dec 21: Kasturba Hospital, Manipal received 'WASH' (Workplace Assessment for Safety and Hygiene) certification from the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare providers (NABH), Quality Council of India.

Dr H S Ballal, pro-chancellor, MAHE Manipal handed over the certificate to Dr Muralidhar Varma, chairman of hospital infection control committee and team Kasturba Hospital Manipal. C G Muthana, COO, Dr Avinash Shetty, medical superintendent and Dr Sunil Mundkur, advisor-quality implementation and Jibu Thomas from Kasturba Hospital, Manipal were present. With this certificate, Kasturba Hospital Manipal has added one more feather to the crown of quality and accreditations.

Kasturba Hospital, Manipal has been assessed and certified by the Quality Council of India, under the NABH chapter for its strong infection control process and protocols laid down during the COVID-19 pandemic and continuing operations of the hospital in providing uninterrupted care. This certification for the hospital assures that safety measures for patients coming to the hospital during this pandemic time for treatment and staff delivering the care including doctors, nursing paramedical staff, housekeeping and other service departments are kept safe from any incidents related to spreading of infection. These processes also help in preventing spread of infection in all areas when the patients come to the hospital and the staff work in the hospital.
