Mangaluru, Dec 23: City corporation deputy commissioner has said that the corporation swimming pool here will be opened for the citizens from January 4.

Because of problems posed by coronavirus infection, entry to the pool had been restricted. As per the decision taken at the meeting of the pool committee which met on November 23, some rules will be enforced when allowing the use of the pool.

Those interested in using the swimming pool have to obtain a certificate about their health from the doctor and obtain permission to enter the pool from the health officer of the city corporation. Only those swimmers aged between 12 and 50 years who have thoroughly learnt the skill of swimming will alone be allowed to enter the pool.

Possession of identity card and swimming pool membership card is compulsory for allowing access to the pool. Training in the public section has been closed temporarily. Sportspersons have to strictly follow the rules prescribed in the swimming pool. Daily entry tickets have been temporarily cancelled. Social distance maintenance is mandatory. Those found violating rules will lose their memberships of the pool. The swimming pool will be closed on Sundays. The decision of the pool committee will be final on all the issues, the deputy commissioner stated.
