Mysuru, Dec 25: MLC, H Vishwanath suggested to the government to open schools after the Sankranthi festival instead of January 1.
Speaking to media persons here, on Thursday December 24, Vishwanath criticised education minister, S Suresh Kumar. "Suresh Kumar issues orders and then reverses it. It seems he has the sickness of taking back his words. You see for yourself if any of his orders have been implemented. The children are the lifeline of families. Now, coronavirus second wave is gripping mankind. It is not right to play with the lives of the children. Therefore, schools can be opened after the Sakranthi festival, not January 1," he said.
He said he is getting the opinions of the people about the night curfew and most have treated it as a joke. He said that it would be enough if night curfew is imposed only on December 30 and 31, not before.
In the meantime, addressing a press conference at Bengaluru, Suresh Kumar clarified that his department is moving ahead under the advice of the technical committee and health minister. He insisted that both the departments are coordinating well and that no one is working for his own ego. He stressed that he is not stubborn on anything and that he does not expect anything out of it for himself.
