Kuwait, Jun 3: A requiem mass was held at the Church of our Lady of Arabia Ahmadi here, recently.
Fr John Harry D’Souza, assistant parish priest OF Ahmadi Church, offered the mass and prayed for victims of the aircraft crash tragedy in Mangalore on May 22.

After the mass a memorial service was held. Fr Harry in his condolence message explained about the reality of death. He said that we came empty handed on this earth and we have to return empty-handed. It’s a joyful mystery to the person who dies and sorrowful mystery to the person who mourns, he said.

Fr Harry said that the death is inevitable; we have to be ready for it. Our life hangs on thin thread anytime it can give way. When a baby is born the new born cries but all around smile. But when a person dies all around there's sadness, but may be the person who dies is happy.  This is other aspect of our life, he observed.

As a tribute of love everybody gathered lighted the candles and prayed for the departed souls. All the 158 names of the victims who lost their lives in air crash tragedy were displayed, and the altar was beautifully decorated with flowers.
The memorial ceremony was organized by Fr Andrew, Jesus Youth, Parish Youth and the parishioners.
