Karkala, Dec 26: Rotary Anns Club held 100 classes under the leadership of Dr Sumanth Joshi of explaining the Bhagavad Gita with meanings under the programme Geetasara during the last three months. The classes were sent via social media and Youtube.
Mahabharata, one of the greatest epics among religious, spiritual and historic poems is rooted deep in the minds of the people in India. Mahabharata is an amazing poem of more than a lac verses.
The poem is believed to have been created by Vyasamuni. The epic is also called Panchamaveda. It is said that the Bhagavad Gita in which Srikrishna advises Arjuna, is the internal spirit of Mahabharata.
Honorary president of the programme, Shailaja Bhat explained the significance of the programme. Dr Sumanth Joshi who was a teacher for about two thousand people to study the Bhagavad Gita was felicitated by Rotary Anns Club on the occasion.
Rotarian Ramitha Shailendra Rao and Rotarian P H F Suvarna were on the dais. Anns Shikala Gowda rendered a vote of thanks. Anns secretary, Suma Nayak compered the programme. Geetasara students took part in the programme.
