Ajmer, Dec 27: Bollywood movies have been full of romantic heroes promising heroines of laying the stars and the moon at their feet. One man from Ajmer has almost made this come true, by buying property on the moon as a gift for his wife.
On the occasion of their wedding anniversary, an Ajmer man gifted his wife a three-acre plot of land on the moon. The man identified as Dharmendra Anija speaking to ANI stated that he bought the land on the moon as he wanted to do something special for his wife Sapna Anija on their eighth wedding anniversary.
“It was our wedding anniversary on December 24. I wanted to do something special for her. Everyone gifts earthly possessions like cars and jewellery, but I wanted to do something different. Therefore, I purchased land on the moon for her,” he said.
Dharmendra purchased the land through an American company, Luna Society International. He also said that the process took a year to complete.
“I’m happy. I believe I am the first man in Rajasthan to buy land on the Moon,” he added.
Meanwhile, Dharmendra’s wife Sapna said that the gift has come as a surprise to her and that she never expected her husband to give her such a special 'out of the world' present.
“I am extremely happy. I never expected he would gift me something so special. The party was organised by professional event organisers, and the setting was surreal. It felt like we are literally on the moon. There during the ceremony, he gifted me a framed certificate of the property document,” said Sapna.
A few months back, Neeraj Kumar, a resident of Bodh Gaya, also bought one-acre land on the moon on his birthday, after getting inspired by Bollywood actors Shahrukh Khan and the late Sushant Singh Rajput.
