Bengaluru, Dec 28: The state government has decided to provide security to the life of people who left cities and migrated to villages due to coronavirus. It has decided to conduct a survey of such migrant families.

The main intention of the survey is to collect information about the number of families that have returned to villages, their health condition, social, financial and educational situation and plan a scheme to provide them better health, plan for livelihood and social security.

Village development and panchayat raj department has already started to collect information about families that returned to villages since April 2020 due to coronavirus pandemic. According to the officials of the department around 3.84 lac to four lac people have migrated to villages from cities in Karnataka.

KMTSPF (The Karnataka Migrant Tracking and Social Protection Framework) app is made ready in order to make the survey. In addition to the general information about the migrants, details of the nature of work they were doing in cities, their income and life style are being gathered. Easy questionnaire is made to know their present condition, skills and their expectations and also education level of children who are under the age of 18. This survey will be conducted by personnel of gram panchayat.

Priyanka Mary Francis, commissioner of Panchayat Raj commissionerate said, "Survey is being conducted to know the health, educational, social and financial condition of families that have returned to villages due to coronavirus pandemic in order to form creative plans to provide better health, livelihood and social security to them."
