Udupi, Dec 28: Investigation of the death case of Raksha (26), a resident of Kukkikatte, Indiranagar in the city, who is said to have died due to the negligence of the doctors, is going on at snail's pace. As the FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) report has not yet been released to the police, there is no progress in the case. In addition, there is also accusation that Raksha's husband is not being given proper information with regards to the FSL report.

The investigation of the case was handed over to COD by home minister Basavaraj Bommai as there was public rage over the death of Raksha.

Raksha

Raksha, who was suffering from a migraine headache, was admitted to a private hospital in the city on August 21. After taking medicine prescribed by the doctor of the hospital, she died within one hour. When she was brought to the same hospital, the duty doctor asked the family members to take her to some other hospital. The doctor at the other private hospital declared that Raksha was brought dead. From that private hospital, the body was shifted to Ajjarkad hospital mortuary. However, there was widespread outrage by the public accusing the doctor of the first private hospital of medical negligence.

G Jagadeesha, deputy commissioner (DC) of Udupi said, "A team of expert doctors have conducted an investigation with regards to Raksha death case and have submitted the report to me. But the report is handed over to COD as the investigation is handed over to them. COD investigation is in progress."

Shivaprasad, husband of deceased Raksha, says, "We have not got justice even though four months have passed after the incident. When I ask the COD team about the FSL report, they are giving evasive answers that it will arrive in a week or 15 days. However, the report has still not arrived. The DC is pointing fingers at COD and vice versa. Justice is not yet delivered."

I am sure this report may not tell the real truth if at all it comes first, second the family have to accept now whatever the truth is beloved person cant be brought back ,third let them have her in their mind as a loving person as if she is alive. That will console them in future.Let them not think but pray for her soul.Mostly whatever doctors do mistake ,and patient either dies or remains with effects, they cover up things and dont tell the truth.Everywhere it is same .In India worse. In other countries too happens but sometimes they accept their failure and compansate the family.Heartfelt sympathys to the family.
