Chikkamagaluru, Dec 29: Parents of a 16-year-old boy have alleged that the police who took away the boy to the police station, not only thrashed him at well, but also tonsured his head. Reportedly, they did this because of the fact that the boy had posted the photograph of a local person in the social media accompanied by a derogatory symbol.
The boy belongs to Mallandur village near here. As he was angry with an influential person from the same village on some issue, the boy reportedly had posted a photo of the person along with a scornful symbol. Later, he had deleted the post. The person in question, Shekhar, who came to know about the fact that the boy had posted his photo in the social media, complained to Mallandur police against the boy.
The police took the boy to the police station, led him to a corner where CCTV cameras were not present, and beat him up thoroughly, the boy's parents said. They forcibly took away his mobile phone and forced him to fall at the feet of Shekhar. They then took the boy to a salon and got his head tonsured besides collecting Rs 1,500 in cash, the parents added.
