Mangaluru, Dec 29: The district administration is taking all the possible measures as per the government guidelines to control Covid-19. A new variant of Coronavirus VUI-202012/01 is found in the United Kingdom. It spreads quickly. The virus is found among some of the passengers who arrived in the state from the United Kingdom recently.
In the circumstances deputy commissioner Dr K V Rajendra has banned entry of people other than fishermen in all the sea shores in the district to prevent the spread of the virus. The ban is ordered expecting large crowds during the New Year eve in Ullal, Someshwar, Mogaveerapatna, Panambur, Tannirbavi, Sasihitlu beaches and seashores from 12 pm on December 31, 2020 till 12 pm on January 2, 2021.
The directions are issued by the deputy commissioner who is also the president of the District Disaster Management Authority making use of the powers vested on him under disaster management Act 2005 section 34.
