Kinnigoli now become town Panchayath but the Parking problem in Kinnigoli town is not solved. Both Kinnigoli and Mennabettu Panchayath with the help of Traffic Police held several meetings but did not come to a conclusion. Vehicles are parking on the road , even on the footpath difficult to walk on the footpath. Particular place to be alloted to park vehicle so that traffic jam can be avoided in Kinnigoli town and commercial complexes.

In our own Mangalore shop owners either just clean the area in front of their shops or neatly interlock the area or chain with two pillars and claim it as their personal property. They give full power to the security guards to scare away people who plan to park there. We still don’t have a clear policy from the authorities.

In Mangalore too most of the shop owners consider the land in front of their shop as their own and intimidate people who park in that space. Security personnel act with authority and don’t allow non customers to park. The MCC has to clarify this issue at the earliest.

There is nothing called a private parking or unauthorised parkeing in front of a commercial complex unless the complex or the shop owner owns the property. Many shop keepers think they own public places as their own.

What you told is right. Even MCC not taking action on the shops who display ni parking boards. Once in Manipal a complex owner locked my car tyre which parked in municipality place. After resistance he unlocked.
