Mangaluru: Gram panchayat polls - District Youth Congress president Mithun Rai clashes with police

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (EP)

Mangaluru, Dec 30: The results of some of the gram panchayats have been declared and BJP and Congress party workers have begun with their celebrations. However, the situation amid the celebrations grew tense after heated arguments were exchanged between the district Youth Congress president Mithun Rai and the police personnel who were present on the occasion.

Both the BJP and Congress party workers were shouting victory slogans. The BJP was celebrating in the leadership of MLA Umanath Kotian.

At one point of time, both the party activists clashed while celebrating their parties victory. The activists even turned a deaf ear to the repeated requests by the police to refrain.

Congress leader Mithun Rai reportedly even lambasted the police personnel who ordered him to stay away from the spot. The tense moments made it difficult for the police to maintain the law and order situation.

The incident happened in front of MGC vote-counting centre in Bondel.

Wins for BJP and SDPI is not good for the society. D.K people are going on wrong way. This is not a good good development. Both are communal parties. 2 faces of one coin.

I hope Congress emerges out with good leaders and we need a good regional party in the state which thinks overall and equal development of Karnataka state.

The verdict has irrevocably confirmed the rising popularity of BJP, in the state.... The minority community, has invariably dumped the INC n JDS outfits, into the garbage bins !!! The rise of SDPI, in dominant ghettoized areas, will futhur galvanise n unify the majority community strengthening the BJP across Karnataka state. The symbolic antics, performed by the INC netas, will further damage, demoralize and wipe out the grand old Congress party from Karnataka !!!!
