Udupi: Illegal transport of sand - Geology dept officials seize five tippers

Udupi, Dec 30: The officials of the department of geology on definite information seized five tippers including two mini tippers that were illegally transporting sand on Wednesday morning and handed them over to the concerned police station for further action.

The raid was conducted in the leadership of officials Sandeep Patil and Mahesh.

Similarly, the officials also seized two mini tippers which were illegally transporting sand near Perampalli junction, Manipal police station limits. The officials seized six-tonnes of sand from each of them and handed them over to Manipal police station.





Another tipper that was illegally transporting 10 tonnes of sand near Puttur national highway 66 was seized and handed over to Udupi town police station. 

A case in this regard has been registered by the police.
