Bengaluru: Ministers contradict each other on need for night curfew

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Dec 31: State revenue minister R Ashok, said that there is a need to impose night curfew in the state because of the fast spreading new strain of coronavirus that originated from the United Kingdom. In doing so, he contradicted health and medical education minister Dr K Sudhakar, who has termed night curfew as a closed chapter.

Ashok, speaking to media persons, felt that there is a need to impose further restrictions in order to exercise effective control over the spread of coronavirus. He said that the issue of enforcing night curfew would be decided after holding discussions with the chief minister.

He, however said that there is no need to enforce lockdown in the city and elsewhere and that it is for the people to be extremely careful.

Before that, health and medical education minister, Dr K Sudhakar, said that night curfew will not be imposed. He said that only the need to tighten the rules further on the occasion of the New Year is before the ministry. He said he would hold meetings with experts. He stated that the home ministry has already been urged to take strict action against those who violate rules.

There is no coordination and cooperation among the ministers of Yediyurappas cabinet.
One should take into consideration that , Maharashtra has the most number of Covid cases in the country - 19,02,458 - followed by Karnataka (9,11,382)"...The report only mentions the number of covid cases. One should only take the ACTIVE cases in the state for correct corroboration of information.

Govt is failed to take proper decision at one time ,this shows the lack of administration knowledge, co ordination between officials as well as with in terms of getting opinion from opposition party, We have observed in many cases - decision to open schools , decision about how to respond when a organisation call for BANDH, how to tackle corona cases , lock downs, how to adjust during festivals and celebrations , This shows inability of ministers, remember the able governance of SM Krishna, D Aras , Ramkrishna Hegde, Solution, - choose qualified political reps and ministers better govt.

On the face of it, I don't see any tangible benefit emanating from the night curfew. The only plausible advantage I can think of is the night curfew can help create an awareness among the people that the corona is by no means a closed chapter. The way people are moving around with no social distancing and without wearing masks gives an impression that they are under the delusion that we have overcome the corona. They need to be reminded that the worst is not over yet and corona can hit back with deleterious consequences if we lower our guard.
