Bengaluru, Jan 6: Minister, K Gopalaiah, stated that the desirability of providing soaps, salt and oil through fair price shops is under consideration. He was speaking at the state level conference of Government Ration Distributors Association held on Tuesday January 5.
"After the state budget is presented, we will provide for issuing Mysore Sandal Soap, cooking oil, salt etc through fair price soaps. In phases, this scheme will be extended to all over the state. Proposal to include these things in the budget would be sent to the chief minister," he said. He hailed the ration shops for providing excellent service to the common people during the coronavirus infeciton period except a few lapses here and there.
The minister advised the fair price shop operators to issue rations to people who have come from other states and districts for livelihood and uphold the concept of 'one country one ration card'.
Additional chief secretary of the department, B H Anil Kumar, joint commissioner, N Srinivas, Joint director K Rameshwarappa, president of ration distribiutors association, T Krishnappa and many others participated.
